Captain Tonic
Completes CHAIR
Widespread Celebration to Follow

San Francisco-based band Captain Tonic will release it’s second CD
CHAIR on Saturday, October 20th at the Paradise Lounge.

The first Captain Tonic release in 3 years, CHAIR augments the sparse sounds of their 1998 debut Waiting on Buffalo with a horn section, backing vocals, and keyboards landing the band solidly between the musical stylings of Steely Dan and Leonard Cohen.

Keyboard player Jacob Elijah Aginsky of Subnautic and the Jacob Elijah Aginsky Trio diversifies the traditional Captain Tonic mix with his B-3, Wurlitzer, Rhodes, and piano.

Arranger and trumpet player Rolf Johnson composed classic horn line treats reminiscent of Tower of Power, Chicago, and Blood Sweat, and Tears.

Chair once again includes the waxing hallmarks of Captain Tonic: a lead guitar both impetuous and refined, boogie in your pants rhythm section, and the vocals of dark comfort.

Captain Tonic is Zbynech Bordech on bass, Todd Van Fleet on drums, Patrick Greene on electric guitar, and Benjamin Smith on vocals and acoustic guitar.

The CD will be released on the Insulate Industries label.
